Orisa – Abilities:
The Orisa has been a player on the Overwatch PRT for few weeks and after playing her we get to know her.She is like a combination of other tank heroes. She has a large, strong shield like Reinhard but intead of being toggleable, it sits on the group. The shield has a cooldown like Winston’s barrier. She can also throw the barrier to set it up at the range, protecting allies similar to how the player Zarya does with her projected bubble. Her primary weapon, Fusion Driver, delivers sustained ranged damage and has a huge magazine a but like long ranged damage and has a huge magazine a bit like D.Va’s cannon.
The rest of the abilities of the Orisa’s is a miniature graviton surge that pulls enemies together, a defensive buff which can reduce damage and make her immune to crowd control, and an ultimate that buffs her team’s damage which makes her the most difficult characters to master. It remains how she will fit into the Overwatch meta.
Blizzard said that Orisa will be disabled in competitive play for the next week which could give the players a chance to adjust to her playstle in quick play, custom games and the arcade before entering the gauntlet of competitive.
Orisa – Updates:
Today’s patch (1.9, if you’re counting) also brought a handful of hero balance changes to the Overwatch live servers. Ana’s Biotic Rifle has had its damage reduced from 80 to 60 per shot, Junkrat no longer hurts himself with his own explosions, and Winston’s Barrier Projector now starts its cooldown when the barrier is placed, instead of when it ends.
Sombra also has a few changes: Translocator has had the cooldown reduced from six to four seconds, sound effects and VO when she exits stealth have been reduced, and her teammates can now see hacked health packs through walls.
Zarya’s Barriers no longer protect from melee knockback, such as Winston’s Primal Rage punches. (This does not affect knockbacks from effects that originate from outside her barriers, such as Pharah’s Concussive Blast.) Finally, Zenyatta’s alternate fire cool down has been reduced from one to 0.6 seconds, and his weapon spread has been removed.
